Stephen Schwartz
An Emmy Award winner and multiple Emmy nominated creator and producer of unscripted, “reality” and documentary style television programming. He was Senior Director of Development and Production at the Discovery Channel and Senior Vice President of Programming for The Style Network. Steve served as Executive Producer at TLC for four years. He was the moving force behind, and the Executive Producer of TLC’s hit series “Trading Spaces,” a program that influenced much of TLC’s future programming and created a new genre in the industry. Steve also created and Executive Produced “Trading Spaces’” sister series, “While You Were Out.” He is a regular consultant for the REELZ Channel. Most recently before that he was a Program Production and Development Executive Producer and Consultant for Lifetime Network.
Earlier, Steve worked as a long form documentary producer and director for some of the television industry’s top organizations, including CBS, ABC, and Lifetime. Other career highlights include serving as Senior Producer for Michael Moore’s “The Awful Truth”, live daytime programming for FX Networks, including the network’s groundbreaking show “Breakfast Time.” Early in his career, he served as Executive Producer for the syndicated “PM Magazine,” and was a creative consultant on the original David Letterman Show on NBC.
